Privacy

What do you store about me?
For a free-tier device: an app-generated device identifier, platform, app version, the IP address of your latest API call, and any open sessions. For paid accounts: additionally your name, email and subscription history. No DNS logs, no traffic logs, no browsing history.
Why do you store an IP address at all?
Only the IP of your most recent API call, used to block abuse when someone scripts thousands of sessions. The field is overwritten on every call, so it never builds up into a movement history.
What about requests from authorities?
We can only hand over what we actually store — see the list above. We can't produce what we don't have, and we can't decrypt traffic because the private key lives on your device.

Technical

Why doesn't the latency shown in the app match a real ping?
The app measures a single TCP handshake to the node's port, while the actual tunnel runs over UDP. The number is only meant to rank nodes relative to each other, not to be the tunnel's true RTT.
The connection drops when switching from Wi-Fi to 4G?
Lychee Protocol is built to survive network changes — it doesn't pin session state the way legacy VPN protocols do. If it still drops, the usual culprit is your vendor's battery saver killing the background service — exclude the app from battery optimisation.
How long until a session expires?
24 hours after it opens. The app renews well before expiry. Expired sessions are removed from the node so the IP address goes back into the pool.
Can I use it on a router?
Router support isn't officially offered right now — the supported client is the Android app. If you have a specific setup in mind, contact us and we'll advise.

Accounts and billing

Do I have to create an account?
No — not if you use a single device on the standard nodes. An account is needed once you want multiple devices or the premium nodes.
How do I pay?
Domestic bank transfer. After transferring, hit confirm on your account page; we reconcile and activate within 24 business hours.
What happens if I exceed the device limit?
The next sign-in is refused with a clear message. Open your account page, remove an old device, then sign in again on the new one.
What happens to my data when I delete my account?
The account, its devices and every session tied to it are deleted from the database immediately. Periodic backups are kept for at most 14 days before being overwritten.
